1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using SnapReceipt ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

SnapReceipt provides automated receipt tracking and expense categorization services. Users can upload receipt images or forward receipt emails, and the Service will extract relevant information and organize it in a Google Sheet.

3. Important Disclaimer - AI Categorization

Our service provides automated receipt categorization as a convenience. Categories are determined using a best-effort approach combining optical character recognition and artificial intelligence.

Categorizations are not guaranteed to be accurate and should not be relied upon for tax filing or financial reporting without review by a qualified accounting professional.

Users are responsible for verifying the accuracy of all categorized data. SnapReceipt is not a substitute for professional accounting or tax advice.

4. User Accounts

To use the Service, you must:

  • Provide accurate and complete information during registration
  • Maintain the security of your unique upload URL and email address
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
  • Be at least 18 years of age or have parental consent

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Upload content that is illegal, fraudulent, or violates any laws
  • Share your upload link publicly or with unauthorized parties
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, hack, or disrupt the Service
  • Use the Service to process receipts for illegal activities
  • Exceed reasonable usage limits as determined by us

6. Data and Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your data. By using the Service, you consent to the collection and use of information as described in the Privacy Policy.

7. Google Sheets Integration

The Service creates and manages Google Sheets on your behalf. You retain ownership of your data. We share the spreadsheet with your email address as a viewer by default. You may request additional access permissions by contacting us.

8. Beta Service

During the beta period, the Service is provided free of charge. We may introduce pricing plans in the future. Existing users will be notified in advance of any changes to pricing or service terms. Your data remains yours regardless of whether you continue using the Service.

9. Limitation of Liability

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SNAPRECEIPT SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY.

Our total liability for any claims arising from your use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless SnapReceipt and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

11. Service Modifications

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time, with or without notice. We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of significant changes.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Ontario, Canada.

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
