Getting Started
You have two options:
- Use your personal upload link — Open it on your phone, tap to take a photo or choose an existing image.
- Forward receipt emails — Send digital receipts directly to your unique email address.
Yes! Add your upload link to your phone's home screen for one-tap access. See our Setup Guide for step-by-step instructions with pictures.
We accept JPEG, PNG, and HEIC images through the web uploader. For email, you can also attach PDF invoices.
How It Works
Our AI reads the text on your receipt and automatically assigns it to one of the standard CRA business expense categories (like Office Expenses, Travel, Meals & Entertainment, etc.).
The AI does a good job with clear receipts, but it's not perfect. Always review your expenses before using them for tax purposes. Think of it as a helpful first pass that saves you time.
No problem! Your Google Sheet is yours to edit. Just update the category or any other field directly in the spreadsheet.
Most receipts are processed in under 30 seconds. You'll see the data appear in your spreadsheet almost immediately.

Yes! While we share it as view-only by default for safety, it's your spreadsheet. Contact us if you need edit access.
We've got you covered. New yearly tabs (Line Items + Summary) are created automatically when you upload receipts from a new year.
Accounts & Sharing
Yes, as long as it's for the same business. You can share your upload link and email address with business partners or family members who make purchases for your business.
Currently, each account has one spreadsheet. For separate tracking, you'd need separate accounts. We're considering multi-sheet support for the future — let us know if this is important to you!
Our AI is primarily trained on English receipts. For French or other languages, results may vary. Email us at support@snapreceipt.co and we can discuss your specific needs.
Privacy & Security
Your receipt images and database are stored in Canada (Toronto data center). Your data stays in Canada.
Only you and our automated system. Your spreadsheet is shared as viewer-only with your email address. We don't look at your receipts unless you ask us to help with a support issue.
Absolutely. Email us at support@snapreceipt.co and we'll delete all your data, including receipt images, extracted text, and your account info.
Beta & Pricing
Yes! During our beta period, SnapReceipt is completely free with no limits on how many receipts you can upload. We'll give plenty of notice before introducing any paid plans.
We'll email all users with details about pricing plans. Your existing data will remain yours regardless of whether you continue with a paid plan.
